Al Adil Supermarkets, an ISO 9001 2000 company, and one of the leading chains of specialty supermarkets in the UAE, announced that it has embarked on a major expansion plan.

Al Adil Supermarkets said that it will be opening four new retail outlets this year, taking its tally to 10 by the end of this year.

Al Adil Supermarkets currently runs six retail outlets in the UAE, three in Dubai, two in Sharjah and one in Abu Dhabi. The planned four new stores will be set up in strategic locations where the company has nil presence.

Al Adil Supermarkets will be entering Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah for the first time in its history of 25 years of operations in the UAE.

In each of its outlets, Al Adil Supermarkets sells more than 4000 food and household items, including food grains such as wheat, rice, corn, pearl millet (Bajra), jonnalu (Jowar), Indian spices, lentils, flour, oils, pickles, tea, coffee, canned and instant foods, ayurvedic herbs, cosmetics, dry fruits, sweetmeats, etc.

Each outlet is designed as a specialty neighborhood retail outlet with space ranging between 1500 to 3000 sq.ft.

Commenting on the expansion plans, Dhananjay Datar, Managing Director, Al Adil Group of Companies said:
"2009 is our Silver Jubilee year and also an inflection point for us. The company has had a successful run in the past and we would like to leverage this for an even brighter future. When we did an assessment of our past 25 years operations we realized that there is so much more to do. Our planned new four outlets along with the existing six will give us presence across the UAE in true sense."
