Qatar's power generation is expected to increase by a demanding 193.5% before the year 2018, almost top of the range for the MENA region. The country will account for 1.85% of Middle East and Africa (MEA) regional power generation by 2013, having a broadly balanced market throughout the period.
According to the forecasts the country will experience an increase in generation to 1,609 TWh by 2013, representing a rise of 44% between 2007 and the end of the period.

Responding to this growth and vitality in Qatar and following the huge success of the event over the past eight years, Power-Gen Middle East Conference and Exhibition 2010 will be held in Doha, Qatar and will be held under the Patronage of His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of the Board, Qatar Power.
Power-Gen Middle East 2010 will be co-hosted by Qatar Power, majority owned by Qatar Electricity & Water Company and owners of the Ras Laffan B IWPP.

The conference will run alongside the exhibition and will include some of the world's leading industry professionals. The exhibition will showcase some of the leading and latest developments in the power and water industry.
