The Big House of Fun consisted of one huge marquee divided into three sections, which included a theatre, a Museum of natural History and vegetation, a section with shops, a special area for educational activities and a fun workshops section.
Dina Al Nakhi, Events Manager at Al Qasba Development Authority, said:
"This year Big House of Fun attracted far more families than we had originally anticipated. We are extremely pleased not only with the high turnout but with the range of events and shows that we were able to organize this year."
The Mad Science show in particular received positive feedback, offering children the chance to play a range of scientific games, win prizes and benefit educationally. With over 24 prizes handed out to lucky winners, the children received shopping vouchers as well as educational books, courtesy of Kalimat publishing and distribution agency.
Throughout the month, the Big House of Fun included many events and shows, like: Cinderella and Aladdin in both Arabic and English in addition to a Roland Mcdoland performance and several competitions. It also included recycling and environmental workshops, as well as art workshops with opportunities for children to do painting, coloring and learn crafts.
Al Qasba development authority is committed to promoting tourism in Sharjah as well as providing a range of interesting events and activities for the public and tourists.
