Acer joins hands with Almasa to supply new range of monitors to the Middle East
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, April 06 - 2003 at 11:48
- PRESS RELEASE
Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. has entered into a new partnership with Almasa to widen its distribution network across the region and make the most of the increasing market for computer monitors in the Middle East.
Acer, one of the world's top ten branded PC vendors, entered the partnership to tackle the current imbalance in the monitor market, as consumer demand outstrips the supply of LCD and CRT monitors available in the region. The company has robust growth plans for both the corporate and home user markets in the Middle East.
"There is no doubt that consumers are crying out for top-quality monitors. Recognizing the huge potential that exists, we are delighted to tie up with Almasa, who enjoy an excellent reputation for the standard of service they provide and the breadth of their experience in the Middle East," said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.
"We are looking forward to working in partnership with a company that is so well respected in the region and has such extensive knowledge of the market," Murthy added.
For Almasa, based in Dubai, the addition of Acer technology to its product range provides it with a powerful advantage in the highly-competitive Middle East market. The company distributes many of the top brands in the peripherals, components and software sectors, and Acer's high quality monitors extend its comprehensive product portfolio.
"Consumers in the UAE want the latest and best technology. This deal strengthens our position by enabling us to supply the market with top-quality products," said Parvez Ahmed, Director, Sales and Marketing, Almasa.
"We are delighted to add Acer's range of monitors to our selection of products," Ahmed added.
Acer expects to see sales figures soar thanks to the deal with Almasa, particularly for its new line of 15" and 17" LCD monitors.
"We believe that LCD monitors will make a major contribution to Acer's growth in the region over the next year. As part of our business strategy we will continue to develop our reseller network. Our partnership with Almasa will form a cornerstone of our aggressive marketing approach," said Jacob Varghese, Regional Sales Manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.
