  • PRESS RELEASE

In support of Pakistan's Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone has signed up as a Silver Sponsor of the 9th ITCNAsia, the biggest IT and Telecom show in Pakistan.

The exhibition, which will be held in Karachi from the 11-13 August, was initially launched in 2001 and has since grown to be the country's most influential IT and Telecom Show. ITCNAsia showcases the most powerful brands of the world and their latest products and services, exposing exhibition guests and trade visitors to a wide range of technology and business solutions under one roof.

"This event, where we can witness first-hand the latest technologies and solutions in action, is the ideal meeting ground for both Ras Al Khaimah and Pakistan to explore how we can further support each other,"

says RAK FTZ CEO Oussama El Omari.

"We at RAK FTZ wish to see Pakistan emerge among the world's top global industries, and this is possible through strategic international expansion which RAK FTZ in the UAE can provide," he adds.

The sponsorship is part of RAK FTZ's goal to support SMEs. To further pursue this, RAK FTZ will be offering a special sign-up discount for the free zone's 'Special Business Package' for only 440,000 Rupees during the ITCNAsia exhibition. Shared facilities are an ideal entry level package that gives clients complete office facilities and license to operate in the UAE, complemented by RAK FTZ's customised service.

Companies from Asia make up the bulk of RAK FTZ clients, with registrations at an all-time high of 41%. With ITCNAsia presenting an ideal opportunity for exhibitors to create business-to-business alliances, RAK FTZ is strategically placed to help Pakistani companies seeking international expansion.

According to information from Pakistan's Ministry of Commerce, UAE has become the third largest trading partner of Pakistan, with a total trade volume of $5.4bn and with exports from Pakistan of $2.1bn. Main exports from Pakistan to the UAE are chemical and construction materials. Chemical materials and products are the main imports from UAE.

Since ITCN Asia began nine years ago, it has grown into a gathering of business potential that will boost the economy, with a wide array of state-of-the-art products and services, technologies and business-to-business alliances.

Interested companies will find more information during the RAK FTZ business presentation on 12 August at ITCNAsia.
