The new offering is the Ice Cafe and comes courtesy of St. Moritz, Ski Dubai's popular restaurant. The themed dining area is set in an exclusive part of the Ski Dubai Snow Park and is accessed via the restaurant's main seating area. The new eatery recreates the unique experience of eating excellent food in a wintry setting and at a chilly -3 degrees Celsius, diners choosing the Ice Cafe option at St. Moritz will be able to fully appreciate the heartiness of the warming fare they order.
"Our new Ice Cafe has been designed to let visitors enjoy the unique experience of dining on first-class cuisine in an alpine setting, even if they don't wish to use the main Ski Dubai facility itself,"
revealed Mike Mahoney, General Manager at Ski Dubai.
"Many of our customers who have dined there have said that it provides an enjoyable contrast to the normal outdoor eating experience to be had in Dubai at this time of year!" he added.
To help create an authentic mountain tableau at the Ice Cafe, cable car carriages have been installed to serve as dining cubicles, with other tables and chairs being carved from blocks of ice. Customers concerned about shivering so much that they won't be able to use their cutlery needn't be concerned, however, as sheepskin rugs remove direct contact with freezing surfaces, leaving a pleasant ambient chilliness that will help pique an appetite. Specially provided jackets also guard against succumbing to excessive feelings of coldness, leaving Ice Cafe patrons feeling snug as they enjoy their meals under the glow of the table-top lamps.
"We invite everyone who wants to escape from the high mercury levels and humidity to come and enjoy our new Ice Cafe dining facility," said Mr. Mahoney.
"We have created a whole new environment for people to savour hot dishes during a scorching Dubai summer!" he added.
