UAE Banker addresses Singapore conference

Steven Pinto, Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Banking Group of Mashreqbank, was a guest speaker at the recent Retail Finance Asia-Pacific 2003 conference held recently in Singapore under the theme 'Getting Serious About the Customer.'

In his speech Pinto underlined the country's success based on the conviction at official levels that the business of government is to manufacture opportunities for growth and spoke with passion about the strides made by the UAE business community over the past 20 years.

"The continuing success of the Dubai Shopping Festival is just one manifestation of its unwavering focus on creating opportunities for the private sector. Thriving free zones such as Jebel Ali and Dubai Internet City, investing in the largest airport in the Middle East, building world-class exhibition and conference facilities and encouraging international cultural and sporting endeavours have all helped to make Dubai one of the most successful economies and popular tourist destinations in the world today," said Pinto.

He formed Mashreqbank's evolution against this backdrop reiterating that the success of the Bank was a function the success of its customers and the economy as a whole. This combined with Mashreqbank's strong focus on innovation and customer centric initiatives.
