VERITAS Software is the leader in backup and recovery, with 48.8 percent market share, offering data protection for both small-to-medium size businesses and large enterprises.

"Enterprises in the Middle East tend to have more distributed IT environments with remote servers and branch offices, and organizations in the region are under increasing pressure to protect that critical data which lies near the edge of the corporate network," said Mike Hynes, regional manager of VERITAS Software Middle East.

He added, "As the leader in enterprise backup and recovery, VERITAS is extending our customers' capacity to manage their entire environment, leveraging the integration of VERITAS NetBackup and VERITAS Backup Exec with the VERITAS Global Data Manager dashboard. With a regional customer base numbering in the hundreds, businesses from Oman to Egypt are in an ideal position to benefit from the new version VERITAS Global Data Manager."

Analysts Praise Ease and Efficiency of New Software
"VERITAS Global Data Manager now provides a single point of management for all backup and recovery processes running on different operating systems and hardware platforms, and for NetBackup and Backup Exec," said Bill North, IDC research director for storage software. "This makes possible centralized management of both data center and remote backup and recovery from a common dashboard, and gives IT managers consolidated real-time visibility of all backup operations worldwide. This single point of control has the potential to increase administrator efficiency, while at the same time and maintaining or improving data protection and service levels."

VERITAS Global Data Manager gives administrators a dashboard view of multiple data protection processes spread across a global enterprise. Now administrators can more efficiently manage remote office backup with VERITAS Backup Exec and multi-platform enterprise data protection with VERITAS NetBackup by controlling the processes and policies from a single point.
