Starting this Saturday (August 8th) the Indian Food Festival at Taj Rasoi brings a sample of true Indian hospitality and its rich cultural heritage to Doha, commemorating the greatest moments in the Indian history and celebrating the Indian Independence Day with mouthwatering specialties from the Maharaja's country in a unique setting.

In addition to the regular menu, a special set menu has been specially created by the Indian Speciality Chef Marcel John D'Cruze from Calcutta.

Chef Marcel believes in cooking with his heart as for him it is not just a job but a passion and he has dedicated his life to it. "I believe in love at first sight and that is what I strive to present on my plates. My aim is to have my guests fall in love with my food and enjoy the tasteful journey from start until the end. I don't just practice classical recipes but enhance them with my passion to create pleasurable moments for my guests. I constantly have to create new dishes and never stop experimenting."

The Indian Speciality Chef reverts back to 22 years of hospitality experience which he earned after he taught himself how to cook in the gentle age of 14 years. The fascination to spoil people with self-cooked food grabbed him completely and never released him.

At the same time, Asia Live!'s culinary team is waiting in tension to delight all food lovers with their talents. Be part of this delicious different culinary experience and explore an exciting lineup of exotic Malaysian dishes for your gastronomic indulgence at Doha Marriott's Far Eastern Restaurant. The Speciality Chefs have prepared a whole rainbow of dishes that highlight the great and diverse cuisine of Malaysia, which the team describes as follows, "A meeting of cultures, a wealth of culinary delights, this is the Malaysian Cuisine. It has taken on culinary influences from many sources and many dishes are derived from multiple ethnic impacts. The indigenous cuisine has been influenced by Chinese, Indian, Thai and many other cultures to produce an entirely new and rich cuisine of their own."

The Food Festival at Asia Live! presents some of these various delicious and popular dishes from the colorful variety of this gastronomic spectrum. Nasi goreng (fried rice) is the most common dish, while sate (skewered meats with a spicy peanut sauce), gado-gado (bean sprouts and vegetables in peanut sauce) and seafood are also popular. The variety of tropical fruits grown would make a greengrocer swoon. They include custard apples, durians, guavas, jackfruits, mangoes, papayas, starfruits and rambutans.

The Indian and Malaysian Food Festivals both start on Saturday August 8th and will go on until the start of Ramadan. Both restaurants will re-open his doors after Ramadan. During the holy month of Ramadan the restaurants Corniche and All' Aperto will open regular hours and services (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Also the renowned Friday Brunch will be offered throughout Ramadan. The JW's Steakhouse will be open for dinner, serving the tastiest, juiciest and most-tender beef you'll ever enjoy.
