Gulf Holding to up cement production

Qatar's Gulf Holding Co. has said that it will increase its cement production from the current 3,500 tonnes per day to 5,000 tonnes per day with its new plant coming online by the end of this year, the Gulf Times has reported. The country's domestic consumption of cement is estimated to be 25,000 tonnes to 30,000 tonnes a day, the company has said. 'There are several giant real estate projects on the list. With such projects, there would be no drop at all in the local demand for cement,' Dr. Omar Yaji, the company's general manager has said.
