Eton Institute offers free Arabic course during Ramadan

An entire beginner level in Arabic and essential etiquettes during Ramadan will be taught absolutely free to anyone interested in learning the language or the culture of the Islamic world.

Dr. Eli Abi Rached, Managing Director of Eton Institute, commented:

"We at Eton Institute wish everyone a very happy Ramadan and as tradition, are offering the free Arabic course and essential etiquettes that will enable people to celebrate the true spirit of Ramadan and the Islamic culture."

Ramadan occurs in the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, when Muslims around the world observe fast during the daylight hours and are called upon to use this month to reconsider their lives in light of Islamic guidance.

"The Arabic word for fasting. Siyam, literally means 'to refrain' - and it means not only to refrain from food and drink, but from all evil actions, thoughts and words," Dr. Eli said.

Eton Institute is also providing Iftar (breaking of fast at sunset) for anyone to experience the spirit of Ramadan, where people come together in solidarity and break their fast with Arabian delicacies.

The free Arabic course and the Ramadan etiquette sessions will start on the 23 August and will be conducted three times a week on Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday from 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm followed by the Iftar at sunset. Interested people are encouraged to book early as there are limited places available which are offered on a first come first serve basis.
