All have successfully taken part in Enoc Challenge III, a comprehensive training programme organised by the Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) to prepare youth from less privileged background for a better future.

During the course of the eight-week programme, Enoc staff helped the participants gain more confidence by exposing them to various training modules designed to strengthen their skills in computers, English language, problem solving, team building and customer care. The participants were nominated by the UAE Red Crescent Society, the principal charitable organisation in the country.

Saeed Abdullah Khoory, Enoc Group Chief Executive, congratulated the trainees as well as all the staff who contributed to making the Enoc Challenge III a success.

He said:
"We are glad that we have been able to help youth who have faced various disadvantages in their lives but are keen to take up opportunities to achieve a better future. They participated in Enoc Challenge with determination and renewed purpose and it is a joy to see them looking more confident to face the future."

Majority of participants who graduated from the programme have decided to pursue their studies in universities or colleges in the UAE on a full time basis.

One of the successful participants, 18-year old Hamda Ali, said she looks forward to pursuing her studies in Engineering. As part of the Enoc Challenge programme, she received hands on training in the Engineering and Construction department within the group.

She said, "The training programme was a tremendous experience for me; it helped me to understand that I have the right aptitude for a career in Engineering. I enjoyed every minute of the training and look forward to learning more as an Engineering student."

"On behalf of all the participants, I would like to thank everyone behind this initiative, including the trainers and mentors who devoted their time to enhance our knowledge and give us the confidence to take on the challenge of excelling in our chosen fields," Hamda added.

Yasir Amin, the father of participant Ola Yasir Amin, commented, "I have seen excellent progress in my daughter during the course of her participation in Enoc Challenge III training programme. Her self-confidence has improved significantly and she now has a clear picture of her academic and career goals. Empowering the youth is the right step in building a strong nation and it is great to see companies like Enoc reaching out to the UAE community through training programmes that benefit the youth."

"We are committed to continuing the work we have started through Enoc Challenge to empower disadvantaged youth and I hope this will set an example for the rest of the UAE corporate sector to come forward and help many more youngsters. There is a real need in the community for such projects," Khoory added.
