Bapco Toastmasters Club installation ceremony

Bapco's Toastmasters Club recently celebrated its 50th meeting and the installation of its new Club Officers for the term July 2009 to June 2010.
In his speech, Mr. Al-Mahroos spoke about the numerous Bapco programmes aimed at developing the Company's employees, including the Bapco Toastmasters Club which complements the other programmes.
Mr. Al-Mahroos reiterated his support for the Toastmasters' mission and his pride in the Club's achievements since its inception under the leadership of General Manager - Maintenance and the Club's founding president Hussain Al-Ansari.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Al-Ansari said that the Club was formed in 2007 to aid the development of Bapco employees' communication and leadership skills, and remains committed to improving the lives of its members and the community.
"We pride ourselves in our training record, and we don't just consider the Bapco Toastmasters Club as training in the traditional sense, but as a social experience as well," Mr. Al-Ansari added.
Guest speaker was Al-Hilal Group Chairman, Anwar Abdulrahman, who spoke about his early years as a student at Bapco's school almost 50 years ago. He highlighted the role that Bapco's school played in producing some of Bahrain's best minds. He also highlighted Bapco's current training initiatives, describing them as the most successful in the country.
During the event, members of the Club's new committee were installed. They are: President - Majeed Dhaif; Vice-President Education - Waleed Othman; Vice-President Public Relations - Fatima Fakhro; Vice-President Membership - A. Hadi Al-Attar; Treasurer - A. Redha Al-Aliwat; Secretary - Ali Shaker; and Sergeant-At-Arms - Hussain A. Karim. The installation of the new Club Officers was conducted by Division 'K' Governor Alex Ginete.
Other speakers were the Club's outgoing president Farooq Al-Ekri, the incoming president Majeed Dhaif, Waleed Othman, Mahmood Mirza, and A. Redha Haqiqi.
Masters of ceremonies at the event were Club members Jenan Al-Askari and A. Redha Al-Aliwat.
