Fairmont Dubai moves into phase 2 of Dhs35m refurbishment program
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, August 11 - 2009 at 09:55
- PRESS RELEASE
Earlier this year, Philip Barnes, General Manager of the Fairmont Dubai and Regional Vice President, UAE for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts advised that in times of economic downturn, it is imperative to move capital projects further and not delay or scale back.
Adhering to this principle, the Fairmont Dubai enters into the second phase of a Dhs35m ($9.5m) capital refurbishment program, that when fully completed, will touch certain areas of the property, including guestrooms, the hotel's bespoke Fairmont Gold product, and the award winning restaurants and lounges.
All 394 guestrooms and suites are currently in various stages of refurbishment. This process involves the latest interior designs spearheaded by Bishop Design Associates, an award-winning firm commissioned with the task of balancing guests' expectations for luxury and functionality with a contemporary aesthetic.
This program also extends to the exclusive collection of penthouse suites that offer commanding views of the city skyline. Three Imperial suites, the largest in the collection, boast two storeys, highlighted by floor to ceiling windows running along the length the astonishing 548 square metre penthouse. These suites will incorporate a set of distinctive yet complementary designs.
The first is an Arabic theme highlighted by rich textures, fabrics, warm tones and an indulgent feel, completed with Middle East influenced motifs.
The second will feature a more cutting edge and modern design, while the third penthouse will reflect a smoothing colour palate, with nuanced textures and fabrics that best showcases contemporary chic.
Moreover, in line with the commitment to remain a leader on the culinary landscape in Dubai, the hotel's portfolio of restaurants and lounges will also undergo refurbishment, including Spectrum on One and the award winning steakhouse, The Exchange Grill.
Earlier this year, saw the debut of two new exciting dining and entertainment destinations - Kitsune and the Cavalli Club, managed by the Pragma Group. The former is a chic restaurant with a striking symmetrical design offering authentic Japanese cuisine, while The Cavalli Club is a world first from the internationally acclaimed Italian designer Roberto Cavalli. His passion for fine gastronomy is demonstrated through an array of culinary concepts, including an Italian restaurant, a sushi bar, an extensive wine bar, and an evening lounge and club, combined with an exclusive 'Maison Cavalli' retail line.
These newly unveiled dining destinations will complement the awarding winning dining portfolio at a celebrated property that continues to reinvent itself through innovative programmes combined with renowned service and hospitality.
The refurbishment program at the Fairmont Dubai is scheduled for completion at the end of the year.
