Dubai's Central Laboratory meets with partners in the jewellery trading sector

Dubai Municipality's Dubai Central Laboratory Department (DM-DCLD) officials held a meeting recently with shop owners and managers from the jewellery trading sector to discuss various issues related to the jewellery inspection, testing, and certification activities being implemented by DM-DCLD.
Eng. Amin Ahmed Mohammed Amin, Head of the DCLD Inspection and Certification Section made a presentation on the various DM-DCLD activities on the inspection of jewellery shops and the Bareeq Certification Scheme for Good Jewellery Trading Practice.
Eng. Farah Ali Al Zarouni, Head of the DCLD Consumer Products Section presented and discussed the various testing activities being carried out by DCLD for precious metals, gemstones and other jewellery items. Zarouni later led the attendees on a tour of the laboratory testing facilities.
During the open session, participants discussed various queries, comments and suggestions related to the implementation of the DM-DCLD activities. Everybody agreed to increase the level of cooperation between the DM and the private sector and have regular dialogues in the future.
