The three-day event is officially supported by the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Oman Medical Association (OMA), the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the Association of Private Hospitals in Malaysia (APHM), the Indian Medical Travel Association (IMTA), and the International Wellness and Healthcare Travel Association (IWHTA).
The platinum sponsors of the event are the American Hospital Dubai, and the Malaysian-based Prince Court Medical Centre and the Pantai Group of Hospitals. Muscat Eye Laser Centre is the gold sponsor.
C.J. Paul, General Manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading exhibition management company in the sultanate, said:

With only about two months to go before the exhibition, more local companies are expected to confirm their attendance soon in what is considered to be the biggest event for Oman's rapidly developing health and medical industry.
Interest from foreign companies is also surging as more international exhibitors continue to book their stalls at MedHealth & Wellness 2009. Paul pointed out that over 15 countries will be represented when the international exhibition formally opens in October.
Thus far, the growing list of international participants includes Klinikum Stuttgart and Klinikum Nuremberg from Germany; LKL Advance Metal Tech Prince Court Medical Centre, and the Pantai Group of Hospitals from Malaysia; Ahalia Health and Heritage Campus and Lakeshore Hospital & Research Centre from India; and four companies from the UAE, namely the American Hospital Dubai, Bioscientia Institute for Medical Diagnostics, TIMCO, and HKS Architects. Other foreign companies at MedHealth & Wellness 2009 are Piyavate Hospital from Thailand, Al Sumow International Co. from Kuwait, Dar AlFouad Hospital from Egypt, Delta Automotive Industries from Saudi Arabia, Wooridul Healthcare from South Korea, and Ted Jacob Engineering Group from the US.
Melwin D'Cunha, Project Manager of MedHealth & Wellness 2009, said:

He explained that that the event will be an opportunity for all health professionals in Oman as well as the general public to learn about the wide range of medical products, equipment and services that are now available from health services providers in the sultanate.
He added that MedHealth & Wellness 2009 will enable foreign companies to promote their products and services to the local market, thus facilitating the transfer of technology and making it easier for patients to access the medical services and procedures that they require.
