USAID signs MOU's with five private hospitals to increase 'customer service' satisfaction levels

In a bid to increase Jordanian hospitals ranking in regional and global medical tourism, five private hospital members in the Private Hospitals Association (PHA) and USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (SABEQ) signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The MOU streamlines efforts to create customer friendly attitude amongst hospital staff, through training and coaching. The signing ceremony that was held at SABEQ Program premises in Amman, with the attendance of the CEO of PHA, respective hospital representatives, USAID and SABEQ officials.

This project aims to create a pool of specialized customer service trainers in all participating hospitals, through building the capacity of selected staff members and providing them with the tools to become customer service trainers of other hospital staff.

The training will also provide a platform for exchanging experiences and sharing knowledge on customer services amongst participants from different hospitals. The training also aims to design guidelines on policies and procedures to achieve higher customer service performance in the medical sector.

"Medical Tourism contributes to the overall economic growth in Jordan. It is a basic and legitimate requirement for hospitals to want to increase their customer satisfaction levels and thus provide a competitive edge to an industry regarded one of the best in the region. When approached, the Program involves itself in economic activities that benefit the national economy in Jordan."
