Generating overwhelming interest in the global hotel community, Aloft officially launched in the Asia-Pacific region in October of 2006, and in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America in 2007. Aloft expects to open 500 properties worldwide by 2013.

The first one in the Europe/Middle East/Africa region is Aloft Abu Dhabi at ADNEC which will be open in the fourth quarter of 2009, has already appointed the Sales and Marketing Team led by Rene Camilleri.

Rene Camilleri

The new Complex Director of Sales and Marketing for Aloft & Element, Rene Camilleri. Originally from Malta, a number cruncher and in formerly a Financial controller for a number of years until he saw the Sales & Marketing light! Rene has extensive hotel experience in Italy, Malta and Croatia and will bring an energized approach that will surely sell with style & yield many fresh new accounts.

Rene is also a qualified pilot, and he will look to swoop in on all the possibilities that exist in the local and foreign market and help Aloft Open Hot. We don't expect a runway for him to park in just yet, but who knows what the future holds.

Madan Nagpal

Madan's penchant for sales and obvious deal-closing talents were reason enough for him to leave his job at Burj Al Arab and plunge head-first into an exciting new career in sales.

Before joining Aloft, he quickly rose up the corporate ladder at institutions such as Habtoor Grand, Le Meridien, & Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi. He joins the team as ADOS and will be assisting in directing the team's effort to make Aloft the preferred choice of Business travellers the world over.

Rami Al Tayar

Rami's passion for the hotel industry is obvious. He relishes the diversity and variety which the industry provides and loves how it fosters his ever expanding network of contacts. He began his career working for DHL.

Two years into it though, it became quite clear that his talents would be put to much better use in the hotel industry. He joined Hilton for a year as a Sales Executive, and followed that with a year and a half stint as sales manager at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel and Resorts. Rami now enjoys his new post as Account Director at the sassy Aloft.

Tanya Haroun

Tanya is the PR Manager for the Aloft Abu Dhabi. She joins us from a diverse background - she's done it all, from assisting to organizing rock concerts and handling advertising clients to project management with ESPN X Games and being Brand Manager for high-end interior brands such as B&B Italia, Flos, and Moooi. Her mission: create abuzz!

Daniël Spijker

After graduating Hotel school in The Netherlands, Daniel completed Starwood's industry leading Graduate Management Traineeship "Vita Futura". He recently joined Aloft as Online Marketing Manager and is always tuned in & ready to a-go-go.

Outside work, Daniel likes to travel (preferably by train). He's been to all kinds of places including Russia and India but his favorite spot is Kathmandu in Nepal. He also enjoys spinning records as a disc jockey every once in a while.
