KFH-Bahrain signs smart card cooperation agreement with Sinnad

Kuwait Finance House has signed a cooperation agreement with Sinnad Company to manage KFH-Bahrain's network of ATM machines, issue ATM EMV-compliant smart cards and connect them with Benefit and Visa networks, with a built in system to monitor and manage electronic transactions risks. .

"In line with KFH-Bahrain's efforts to provide secured transactions to its customers and with continuous encouragement and direction from the Central Bank of Bahrain to adopt the best technologies and the most sophisticated international standards, KFH-Bahrain has signed with Sinnad for the production and personalisation of its debit and credit cards, using EMV compliant chip-based smart cards."

"The EMV chip-based secure card is certified by Visa International and will be accepted in ATM's and POS terminals worldwide. It is also certified by Benefit to use Benefit and GCCNET switches for transactions in Bahrain and other GCC countries", he added. "The new chip-based cards will significantly minimise card related fraud and provide much needed peace-of-mind to our customers when they are using their cards".

Mr. Abdulwahid Janahi, Chairman of Sinnad Company said "We are very proud of our cooperation with KFH-Bahrain which is a reputable bank enjoying a prime status on the local and regional level, through a cooperation agreement to issue smart ATM cards."

"The issue of new smart cards will provide the Bank's customers with a safer alternative while conducting their transactions. The cards are considered a method customers can use to pay daily expenses in a better way by directly accessing their funds through their bank accounts. The cards enjoy world recognition, flexibility and safety," Janahi added.
