The presentation is in line with the Memorandum of Co-operation signed between the two organisations in April this year which sought to match Tamkeen's rich suite of information, database and training with the SCW's empowerment initiatives to give Bahraini women the support they need to broaden their participation in the national sphere.

In this phase of the agreement between Tamkeen and SCW, both agencies plan to use their systems and structure to target women entrepreneurs and involve them in internal and external workshops as well as educational and training courses.

Tamkeen also plans to work closely with the Council in nominating women for purposes of representation in international forums and organisations concerned with women affairs.

"Tamkeen offers various support programmes to all Bahrainis. Through these programmes, we strive to offer support to Bahrainis who are willing to venture into the private sector and run their own businesses. In addition we aim to provide quality training to improve Bahrainis skills and know-how,"
said Mr. Ammar Awachi the Project Coordinator of Private Sector Support Department.

The initiatives have opened new doors for Bahraini women who have stepped into new careers such as accounting and finance and aeronautical engineering thanks to Tamkeen's training programmes and even benefitted as entrepreneurs because of Tamkeen's support programmes through its Enterprise Development and Business Development schemes.
