QIB's Zakat Committee donates QR1m for Ramadan

QIB's Zakat Committee has provided QR1m in food, financial and Iftar aid to people in need during the Holy month of Ramadan.

This Zakat Committee initiative is a main objective of QIB's social responsibility strategy.

Zakat Committee head, Mr. Mansour bin Mohamed al Muslah noted the QIB project is being implemented in cooperation with other charity organizations in Qatar. The Ministry of Awqaf and Social Affairs will receive QR500,000 to support its zakat fund, and QR335,000 will be allotted for the Ministry's Iftar project. QIB has also provided Iftar aid of QR100,000 for the Qatar Red Crescent and QR100,000 for the Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah al Thani Organization for Human Services (RAF).

In addition, QIB has donated QR100,000 to fund the Barid Alayhom Project which supplied air conditioners and refrigerators to needy families earlier this summer.

QIB's Zakat Committee is currently providing aid assistance to requests received at its offices in Doha al Jadida. Cases are evaluated by the Research and Social Studies Department to ensure assistance is provided to meet appropriate needs and adhere to Committee terms and conditions.

QIB is a dedicated supporter of social development through the sponsoring of education, culture, health, sport and social activities. QIB's Zakat Committee actively cooperates with charity organizations in Qatar to help those in need of assistance. Through these cooperative programs, aid provided by QIB has reached almost 19 million people in the last five years.
