H.E. Mohamed A. Al Noman, Director General of the SCTDA, said:
"The Sharjah Summer Breaks campaign proved to be very successful. The campaign helped increase the number of tourists visiting the emirate, with outstanding hotel services and enticing offers designed by the SCTDA to introduce visitors to Sharjah's brilliant museums and to offer tourists an unforgettable family vacation experience."

According to Al Noman, the Sharjah summer campaign is one of the important steps taken by the Authority to diversify the services offered to both domestic and international tourists, saying that the SCTDA has worked hard to provide the perfect setting for tourists and residents alike, especially since Sharjah is well known for its remarkable tourist attractions.

He explained, "The global financial crisis and the outbreak of Swine Flu dictate that we must work hand-in-hand to achieve our goals. Indeed, summer campaign promoters are working together to reinforce Sharjah's reputation as a leading tourism destination with unique, outstanding tourism characteristics. This cooperation was most apparent in the Sharjah summer campaign, where the SCTDA worked together with a number of hotels to promote Sharjah's tourism sector and the superb infrastructure that have made Sharjah an unparalleled tourism destination."

As for the success of the promotional campaign, Al Noman said, "Statistics issued by the SCTDA show that the number of hotel visitors in Sharjah increased by 12 percent from 98,911 visitors in June 2009 to 110,289 visitors in July 2009, while the number of room nights increased by five percent, from 109,558 to 115,182, and hotel occupancy increased by 10 percent to 68 percent, from the 58 percent recorded in June. These figures clearly show the success of the summer campaign in increasing tourism flow into Sharjah."

Al Noman thanked all who contributed to the success of the summer promotional campaign, saying he hoped that cooperation between tourism experts would continue to ensure that tourism facilities in the emirate of Sharjah met the highest international standards.

SCTDA-organized 'Sharjah Summer Breaks 2009' promotional campaign attracted large numbers of domestic and international tourists, who came to Sharjah to enjoy a wonderful holiday where fun, entertainment and adventure come together in a single destination offering top-class entertainment facilities, hotels, resorts, and activities. Sharjah's reputation as a unique destination for cultural tourism, with abundant museums that offer impressive and memorable moments to enrich any visit, also attracted tourists from all over the globe.
