As the holy month of fasting for Muslims dawns upon us, a fair bit of the expat population within the UAE is curious as to what is expected of them and what they can expect from the Muslim community.
During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world are in a state of meditation as a time to cleanse the soul, transfer attention to God and practice self sacrifice. It is much more than just not eating or drinking.
Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Dubai Knowledge Village stated: "I believe this workshop will greatly serve non-Arab community and enrich their cultural awareness as well as educate the participants on the basic essentials of Arab culture and customs especially during the holy month of Ramadan. Also, I think by embarking this initiative, Dubai Knowledge Village demonstrates its commitment towards serving the community as part of social responsibility and supporting its business partners."
The free Ramadan etiquettes & cultural awareness workshop will be conducted on Saturday, 29 August from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Auditorium in Dubai Knowledge Village.
Participation is free, interested people are encouraged to book early as there are limited places available which are offered on a first come first serve basis.
