Ajman University dean reports increasing interest in environment, water and energy programs

There is increasing interest in the Masters program offered by the Institute of Environment, Water and Energy at Ajman University of Science and Technology and in applying the latest technology in managing water resources that became rarer than ever, Professor Zain Al Abideene Rizq, the Institute's Dean has reported.
Professor Rizq also stated that the program is open not only to graduates holding bachelor's degrees in the disciplines of agriculture, science and engineering with a minimum score of 75%, but also to those already working in areas relevant to groundwater, (such as water resource management, agriculture and irrigation), for whom a flexible schedule and evening classes are provided. Students also write a thesis and complete a variety of courses including practical training, field visits. In this regard, students recently made a field visit to the Water Department in Umm Al Quwain, learning about the desalination process and the management and technology of water stations.
Institute faculty hold PhDs from Aachen German University or other prestigious institutions, and students benefit from exchange programs with German and other Western universities. The Institute also has a strong research profile and works with counterparts in universities and research centers which are members in the Arab-European Network of Research, which is chaired by H.E. Dr Saeed Abdullah Salman, President of AUST.
