EIM and Chamber of Commerce to educate businesses of Net benefits

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, April 14 - 2003 at 11:09
  • PRESS RELEASE

Emirates Internet and Multimedia today announced it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Federation of the UAE, Chamber of Commerce & Industry, aimed at increasing awareness among businesses of the benefits the Internet can bring to companies.

Under the agreement, EIM will give a series of interactive presentations to each of the Chamber of Commerce's staff members and their businesses clients. An EIM stand will also be erected at all Chamber of Commerce centers in the U.A.E, offering information and advice to visitors.

"This is a key partnership in our efforts in promoting the range of benefits the Internet can bring to business," said Abdulla Hashim, Senior Manager, Business Development and Sales, EIM. "Educating users is essential to e-enabling the country. Those businesses that do not have a high-speed connection are now at a considerable disadvantage to their counterparts as more communication, transactions and supply chain management occurs online."

For all the Chamber of Commerce staff members, EIM will present the range of services available and how each can benefit companies of all sizes. In turn, the staff members can then pass on that knowledge to the business community.

For business clients of the Chamber of Commerce, a series of direct seminars to companies are to be given by EIM staff. A range of topics will be covered, from the services available through to advice on how best to use the Net to further business goals. These seminars will occur when requested by the Chamber of Commerce.

As part of the presentations and information being made available, every aspect of the Net is to be highlighted in addition to how businesses are utilizing it to increase productivity and drive down costs.

"Businesses today must embrace the Internet if they are to compete," added Abdulla Sultan, Sec. General, Federation of UAE Chamber of Commerce & Industry. "This partnership will allow us to increase our offering to our clients to incorporate authoritative advice on how they can use the Internet. It is our responsibility to offer up-to-date, accurate information on the latest developments"
