This came during a press conference held this morning at the headquarters of Sharjah Islamic Bank to assure that the success of such public event inspired more efforts and preparation for this round.
Hassan Abdallah Albalgoni, Head of Public Relation and Media Division in SIB and the Head of the Ramadan Tent organizing committee, said in his opening speech: 'In the light of the success of SIB's Ramadan tent in previous rounds, and in line with the instructions of the higher management of the bank, we announce today the 3rd round of SIB Ramadan Tent under the theme (Hayyakum). As it comes under the umbrella of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival.'
The capacity and total size of tent has been increased this year to accommodate approximately 350 guests comfortably with air conditioned luxurious interior. The location was also selected to be in the beach activities area of Sharjah Ramadan Festival in order to facilitate outdoor beach activities such as volleyball, Al Balguni added.
He said: 'Maximum safety and security standards were also taken into account in the construction of the tent, from the use of fire resistant materials to sufficient emergency exits and availability of firefighting equipment and first aid kit. The organizing committee has allocated a number of prizes and gifts for visitors of the tent, in addition to the daily prizes and the final draw that includes Plasma TVs, Laptops, Blackberry mobiles and various other prizes and surprises.'
The head of the organizing Committee also clarified that the Ramadan Tent activities were drafted in collaboration with several government, private and charity entities to assure the best interest of society, such as the Sharjah Police, Sharjah Charity Association, Al Theqa Club for people with special needs, Red Crescent, In addition to Sharjah television and radio, Roya company and many more.
Khalaf Abdullah, deputy head of the organizing Committee, highlighted some of the SIB Ramadan tent activities, he said:
'The opening night will witness a cultural contest between teams from different government departments in Sharjah, followed by a night with the famous Rashid Al Kous and Mohammed bin Dekhain about life in the UAE before the discovery of oil. In addition to Sharjah Radio live studio from inside the tent, Charity and Philanthropy night, Addiction lecture by Sharjah Police, Children day, integration with people with special needs, Munshid night, communities night, sports night and many other nights starting from 23rd august until 9th of September.'
It is noteworthy to mention that Sharjah Islamic Bank holds mass Iftar tents during the holy month of Ramadan for the public on annual basis, as a part of its social responsibility towards society.
The organizing committee of SIB Ramadan tent invited the public to visit the tent and participate in the daily events which contains a variety of prizes and gifts, in addition to traditional food and the grand final draw for plasma televisions, Laptops and mobile phones (BlackBerry) and many more prizes and surprises.
