- PRESS RELEASE
The Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (JAPM) supported by the USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (Sabeq), conducted recently a workshop on "Writing Effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)" at the Kempinski Hotel.
The workshop came in line with a series of similar events to enhance the opportunities of Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturers to expand their exports.
Different pharmaceutical accreditation requirements for regional and international markets have been the topics of a series of workshops conducted by JAPM and Sabeq Program over the course of several months to ensure full sector compliance.
SOP workshop comes to bridge some gaps in documentation practices, focusing on how to maintain and audit documentation, ensure proper change control, and implement proper review and approval processes of SOPs in pharmaceutical companies.
Dr Nadia Ghazal conducted the workshop. Dr Ghazal is a local pharmaceutical consultant with extensive experience in pharmaceutical industry and has a track record for dynamic involvement in implementing GMP systems in pharmaceutical companies in line with current EU, FDA cGMP standards.
According to Dr. Hanan Sboul, Secretary General of JAPM, Standard Operating Procedures is a key document in pharmaceutical industry. And proper writing and managing SOPs according to Good Documentation Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices is a major factor for compliance with international regulations and best practices.
The USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (Sabeq) is a five year broad economic development initiative implemented by Bearing Point, Inc., and a sizeable team of international and Jordanian partner firms. By supporting improvements in the business environments and providing assistance to expand innovation and productivity in Jordanian businesses, it supports the main objective of building up the private sector as a powerful engine of economic growth.
