'We have decided to advance the OGS 2003 by a week in the interests of the energy industry which finds the new schedule ideal for an event of such international stature,' said David Domoney, Managing Director, International Conferences & Exhibitions Ltd, organizers of the event. 'As an international show that has become a meeting point for the regional and global oil and petrochemical industry, OGS attracts thousands of visitors. The new dates will ensure that a greater number of visitors will be able to network with experts in the industry and attend the key conferences and seminars scheduled during the event.'
The biennial exhibition targets major oil and gas producers from the region's public sector as well as exploration engineering and contracting companies from the private sector. Some of the world's foremost players in specialized equipment in exploration, drilling, mapping, maintenance, safety & rescue, fighting and corrosion protection take part in the exhibition.
'OGS 2003 promises to be nearly 50 per cent bigger than the previous event, going by the response from global and regional specialist companies and the interest displayed by the region's oil industry. National pavilions from Germany, France, Malaysia, Iran, Italy and Russia have already confirmed their participation,' added Domoney. 'The show has always attracted a varied mix of equipment manufacturers as it provides a strategic window to the region's oil industry, with a focus on the GCC countries which control over 45 per cent of the world's known oil reserves.'
The show has been showcasing the most advanced equipment and solutions for the petrochemical industry. Leading edge technologies have led to further advancements in equipment, considerably improving efficiency, speed, performance levels and safety. This year's edition will highlight several advanced solutions that help the oil and gas industry achieve higher productivity through more innovative products and equipment.
The exhibition will be supplemented by OILSEC 2003, the International Security and Maintenance Conference, for the oil and gas producers of the Middle East, which will address the growing concerns for security and maintenance in the production fields of the Middle East. The event will host specialized seminars targeted at industry professionals, aimed at updating them on new developments in the industry.
Organised by International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E) and supported by the UAE Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, OGS has gained wide reputation as a key event for suppliers of petroleum equipment and specialist visitors involved in the areas of exploration, extraction, processing, storage and transportation of oil and gas.
OGS 2003 advanced by a week to ensure greater visitor convenience
The Arab Oil and Gas Show, now called OGS, which is the region's premier exhibition targeting the oil, gas, petrochemical onshore and offshore industries, has been rescheduled to be held at the Airport Expo Dubai from October 12 to 15, 2003, instead of the earlier date of October 19 to 22, in keeping with the international schedules of exhibitors and visitors from the energy industry who are expected to attend the event in large numbers.
