Al Salam Bank-Bahrain signs agreement with Kanoo Travel Agency

Al Salam Bank-Bahrain signed exclusive Offers agreement with Kanoo Travel Agency lately.

The Ceremony was held at Kanoo's main office in Manama in the presence of Mr Yousif Taqi, Al Salam Bank-Bahrain Director and Chief Executive Officer, and Mr Abdulla Kanoo, Kanoo Group Chairman.

The signed agreement provides extended offers and services to the bank's customers and charge card holders

The agreement was signed by executive Vice President Head of Mena, Mr. Nabeel Al Tattan on behalf of Al Salam Bank and Chairman of Travel at Kanoo Group, Mr. Mubarak Jassim Kanoo on behalf of Kanoo Travel Agency.

On this occasion, Mr. Al Tattan said, "Kanoo is one of the top travel agencies in the Kingdom of Bahrain and we are pleased to sign this agreement with them."

He added that the agreement enhances the benefits of Al Salam Bank-Bahrain card holders.

The agreement allows Kanoo to participate in various exclusive promotions extended to Al Salam's customers and charge card holders which include special pricing on selected holiday packages, value additions promotions and discounts on room bookings in selected hotels and travel related services.

Mr. Al Tattan stated that in order to enjoy the privileges of holiday offers with Kanoo Travel Agency, Al Salam card holders must present it at Kanoo when booking their holidays or making travel arrangements. The charge card holders will have a dedicated telephone line to provide travel and tourism services 24/7.

Furthermore, Mr. Mubarak Kanoo, Chairman of Travel, stated that we will put the utmost effort to ensure the highest level of services and competitive prices.

He also mentioned the importance of this strategic alliance, considering that Islamic Banking is one of the most active sectors and the most developed in the past few years.

Furthermore, Al Salam Bank Bahrain launched lately a variety of Sharia'a complaint products and services to fulfill the needs of Al Salam Bank's valued customers. These products include Dari housing solutions, Moteri vehicle financing, Resala SMS notifications, Gold and Platinum charge cards, Wakala deposits and Online Banking. Therefore, Al Salam Bank Bahrain aims to offer the best and innovative products and services in the Islamic Banking sector in order, to achieve its strategic goals.

About Al Salam Bank-Bahrain:

Incorporated on 19 January 2006 in the Kingdom of Bahrain with a paid-up capital of BD120m ($318m), Al Salam Bank-Bahrain (B.S.C.) commenced commercial operations on 17 April 2006. The Bank operates under Islamic principles in accordance with regulatory requirements for Islamic banks set by the Central Bank of Bahrain. Al Salam Bank-Bahrain was listed on the Bahrain Stock Exchange on 27 April 2006, and subsequently on the Dubai Financial Market on 26 March 2008.

The total assets as of 31 March 2009 grew by 8.4% to reach BD601m ($1,594m) from BD554m ($1,470m) at 31 December 2008.
