Tawam hospital Polyclinics are a vital segment of Tawam Hospital seeing approximately 20,000 patients on a monthly basis. It is crucial that patients across the UAE are aware of the new Ramadan working hours in order to receive and facilitate their required treatment.
The Dialysis Clinic on the other hand has implemented an extension to its regular working hours and will now operate from 7:30 AM unitl 11:00 PM Sunday through to Thursday during Ramadan, instead of its regular closing time 9:30 PM.
The Neima and Jahli Primary Healthcare Clinics (PHC) will be operating at its regular hours, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 midnight seven days a week. Al Wagan Hospital's Ramadan timings are identical to Tawam Hospitals', 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and the Emergency Department is operational on a 24 hour basis.
Dr. Michael E. Heindel, CEO, Tawam Hositpal said,
'As one of the main medical hubs of the UAE, Tawam Hospital is adamant to continue providing its patients with the quality treatment they require during this blessed and holy month. At the same time, Tawam is also committed to supporting its hard-working staff as they practise their faith. We would like to take this opportunity to wish our community a healthy Ramadan Kareem.'
It is the continuous mission of the Tawam Hospital, Emergency Department (ED) to provide safe, timely, and quality emergency patient care in a compassionate and culturally sensitive manner 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The ED will not change its working hours during the holy month of Ramadan. All patients are urged to comply with the 'Triage' system, in which patients will be prioritized according to the severity of their condition.
Tawam Hospital is already fully-equipped with five Fast Track rooms to accommodate less urgent patients. Fast track rooms are dedicated to non-urgent patients that can also be treated at primary healthcare clinics. It is advised that all patients with minor/non urgent ailments, such as flu's and petty injuries to go to the Neima and Al Jahli Clinic's instead of the Emergency Department.
As blood donation is not recommended during fasting period, Tawam Hospital has shifted its Blood Donation Campaign timing to post Iftar, 6:00 PM -12:00 AM Sunday through to Saturday. Campaign staff will ensure the collection of donated blood from a number of venues in Al Ain only during these designated times.
Tawam Hospital's Blood Donation Bank will also be active during the month of Ramadan. Working hours are limited to 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 12:00 midnight, Saturday through to Thursday.
Tawam is owned and operated by SEHA, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, which is responsible for the curative activities of all the public hospitals and clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
