Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank appoints Dhafer Faroq Luqman as Head of Strategy, Product Management and International Retail Banking

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading regional Islamic bank, has appointed Dhafer Faroq Luqman as Head of Strategy, Product Management and International Retail Banking.

Dhafer, a GCC national, will be responsible for planning and directing all business development strategies, the introduction of new products and expansion into new markets to tap new geographies.

Dhafer has 19 years of high quality international experience primarily with HSBC and Dubai Islamic Bank with extensive stints in the Saudi and UAE markets. His experience spans roles in Corporate Banking, Consumer Banking and Strategy Planning across Islamic and conventional banks.

His last role at HSBC was that of Country Manager for Retail in the UAE. Prior to that, he spent 12 years in Saudi Arabia working in the Corporate and Retail Banking divisions. He has also had developmental roles in the UK and Hong Kong with the bank.

At Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Dhafer was Head of Corporate Development including strategy and planning. He also represented DIB on the boards of two of its subsidiaries.
