To support the new strategy, Acer has signed partnership deals with two of Egypt's leading distributors, MANTRAC and M.A.S Egypt, who will respectively supply Acer's award-winning personal computers and leading-edge peripherals to the market.

In addition, they have reached new agreements with the country's top three resellers - Tea Computers, Egyptcomp, and Compuserve. All these companies will receive ongoing support from Acer to ensure the highest possible standards of service for end users, including access to high-end technical support and a dedicated Web site containing up-to-the-minute product, marketing and other useful information.

"The new strategy is designed to make our most advanced technology available to the Egyptian market immediately upon release, and provide excellent standards of customer service through our authorized distributors and resellers," Basem Ewaiwi, Regional Sales Manager, CIS & East Mediterranean, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.

Acer has already laid the groundwork for its new strategy through the extension of its Acer Certified Sales Professional (ACSP) training program throughout Egypt. The program equips regional channel sales personnel with world-class levels of customer service and product knowledge training, and has been warmly embraced by resellers in the region.

Part of Acer's global strategy is to support its affordable and high quality products with enhanced service levels from its authorized partner network. In prioritizing the Egyptian market, Acer Computer (M.E.) is making a bold statement about its ambitions for the region.

"The Egyptian market has huge potential for Acer," says Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. "For example, less than 10% of homes in Egypt - a country with a population of almost 64 million - currently own a PC and demand is rising by the day. The same potential exists in the market for peripherals, monitors and other types of corporate and home-use technology."

"Our new strategy will provide us with the reach, presence and expert support necessary to capture a significant portion of this dynamic market. I'm very confident that Acer and its partners will achieve great things in Egypt in the months to come."
