Wataniya Telecom honors recipients of second annual scholarship program

Wataniya Telecom is pleased to honor the recipients of its scholarship program for the academic year 2009-2010.

As the second Annual Wataniya Telecom Scholarship Program, Wataniya gives its employees the opportunity to finish their undergraduate or graduate education in accredited universities inside or outside of Kuwait while remaining employed with reduced working hours to accommodate their studies and work responsibilities.

The program is an annual program that includes ten employees per year and lasts for up to four years.

Wataniya believes strongly in its core asset - its people. This falls under the employee strategy "A Better You Simply Means A Better Us" that provides value-added HR resources to employees, career pathing and opportunities development within a performance driven culture.

Scott Gegenheimer GM & CEO of Wataniya Telecom, said:

Through this program, we aim to develop and enhance our employees competencies and we are always there to support them."


Employees who were granted the scholarship in 2008, successfully continue to study on their program: two employees are currently studying in Bahrain while others study here in Kuwait. Selected employees study in different fields as Master or undergraduate such as MBA, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business and Marketing, Business Administration.

All applicants were carefully reviewed and considered by the Scholarship Committee on the basis of personal interviews, personal statements, recommendation submissions and solid job performance. The following employees were granted the Wataniya Scholarship; Academic Year 2009-2010 and we congratulate them on their achievement and support them in their new academic journey.

The employees who were granted the scholarship are: Hussein Khalial Kansour, Fahed Mohammed Baqer, Ahmed Baron, Abdul Wahab Omar Ahmed, Essa Abdullah Al Basheer, Sulaf Mohammed Al Habash, Fadi Osama Yousef Jalajel, Aisha Essa Ali, Anand Moorthy and Mohammed Abdulreda Al Qallaf.

Wataniya's initiative in granting its employees the scholarship keeps it in the lead as a Kuwaiti company that constantly strives to provide the best for its community and its people.
