Qatar Telecom extends rebound

Qatari investors cheered positive statements of US Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke on the world economy being in a recovery mood and sent the Qatar Exchange's DMS20-index 4.12% higher to 6,842.09 points. Shares of Qatar Telecom ended 4.12% higher at QR143.90 and were only topped by Al-Khaleej Insurance (up 4.55% to QR30.20). Real estate firm Barwa (gaining 3.21%, to QR32.70) told the exchange authority that it has raised its stake in Al Imtiaz, a Kuwait-based Investment Company, to 25%. Thirty-three stocks added value and three remained flat. As in Dubai and in Abu Dhabi, there were only two losing shares today in Doha.
