  • PRESS RELEASE

Lanvin, one of the oldest French couture houses founded in 1889 by the legendary Jeanne Lanvin, announced the opening of its newest and largest boutique in the Middle East.

Located on Dubai Mall's Fashion Avenue, the region's fashion hotspot, this 220 square meter boutique houses the season's collection in a chic, luxurious and intimate environment. Launched in partnership with luxury retailer UAE Trading, this is the brand's second of two stand alone boutiques in the UAE that brings the men's and women's collection under one roof.

Jihad Hajjar, General Manager, UAE Trading, said:
"We have proudly represented the brand in the UAE since the early 1970s and the opening of this exclusive boutique marks a new era of growth for Lanvin. The boutique is a delightful showcase of the current season's must-haves, designed to give shoppers a wonderful experience of the Lanvin world."

Since the brand was revived in 2001 under the creative genius of designer Alber Elbaz, it has come to represent the epitome of exquisite elegance. And this is reflected in the décor of the boutique which is the result of a successful collaboration with the designer and architects Jean-Christophe Poggioli and Pierre Beucler from Architecture & Associés. The décor mixes concrete flooring and reinvented Versailles parquet with steel shelving and art deco-style consoles to create a luxe contemporary setting that exudes refinement.

"The boutique is designed in the image of a collection in constant evolution. The décor infuses elements that create contrast and arouse curiosity- a subtle alliance between classicism and modernity, luxury and conviviality. More importantly, the intent was to create a space that would give love to women," stated Alber Elbaz, Lanvin designer.

An intriguing feature of the boutique is the strikingly theatrical window display, replete with stage lighting, animated mannequins and playful props. An ornate Napoleon chair sets this regal scene along side a stylized sketch of Alber. This majestic stage-set sees the mannequins accessorized with colorful wigs, jewel-filled crowns and satin sashes to complete this very royal theme. Lanvin is a brand that never ceases to surprise. Creative and ever-changing, these signature shop windows showcase original scenography by Alber Elbaz.

The window leads shoppers into the first half of the boutique which houses the four distinctive prêt-a-porter lines for men: "Lanvin" - an iconic modern line, "Lanvin Acne" - the raw denim collection, "15 Faubourg"- the contemporary line ranging from classic suits to casual wear and "15 Faubourg" - the ultimate luxury made-to-measure collection.

An inviting passage connects the men's showroom with the women's section - a splash of colour with its "22 Faubourg" collection created for travel, the elegant "Blanche" wedding dresses that are available for the first time in the UAE, unique "Lanvin Acne" denim pieces and a delectable assortment of shoes, handbags and sparkling accessories.

"The uniqueness of the brand lies in the fact that every item is designed in-house at the Lanvin atelier in Paris using traditional techniques that combine the finish of couture but with a modern twist. The brand has a desirable "imperfectly perfect" quality that fashion aficionados have come to value," explained Mr. Hajjar.

Drawing inspiration from the brand's flagship in Paris, the Dubai Mall boutique is all set to establish itself as the new showcase of the Lanvin world in this region.

In addition to Dubai Mall, Lanvin is available at the exclusive boutique in Emirates Towers and in corners at Harvey Nichols, SAKS Fifth Avenue and at Rodeo Drive boutiques across the UAE.
