German Jordanian University launches Aruba Academy

The German Jordanian University (GJU), in cooperation with Aruba Networks, announced today the launch of Aruba Academy at GJU's School of Informatics and Computing. By signing this agreement, GJU becomes the first academic partner for Aruba in Jordan.

The announcement comes as a reflection of GJU's commitment to the region's education sector and the effort to develop technical skills, bridge the gap amongst the requirements at the local market level, and increase the professional skills of students in the wireless networking sector.

According to the agreement signed between GJU and Aruba, the vision behind Aruba Academy is to draw on Aruba's vast array of human talent and technology innovations in wireless networking. Aruba will provide GJU with equipment, devices, and necessary networking infrastructure.

'Through Aruba Academy, GJU will develop modern and practical ICT related educational programs that are compatible with international standards, and competitive with the increasing demands of the regional market and the global market,'


said Professor Labib Khadra, President of the German Jordanian University.

The University has been founded in 2005 by a Royal Decree, as a result of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany. School of Informatics and Computing, one of the faculties of the University, offers a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Communications.
