McHale is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Discovery Communications, the parent company of Discovery Channel. She successfully built the company into a renowned global media enterprise with 1.4bn subscribers in 170 countries.
The high-level delegation was received by Mohammad Abdullah, Executive Director, Dubai Media City, and other senior management officials, who briefed the visitors on the world class facilities and business incentives offered by the media cluster. Investment opportunities and services at DMC's sister concerns Dubai Studio City (DSC), the dedicated free zone for film and broadcast industries, and the International Media Production Zone (IMPZ), the free zone for printing, publishing, packaging (3P) and graphics art industries, were also highlighted during the meeting.

Several leading US companies including globally recognized media brands such as CNN, CNBC, Associated Press and Dow Jones International Ltd, are currently operating from Dubai Media City.
Dubai's media cluster has evolved dramatically over the past eight years. Business friendly regulatory frameworks and a state-of-the-art infrastructure have prompted more than 1,400 regional and international media organisations to set up base in Dubai Media City. Specialized media clusters such as Dubai Studio City and the International Media Production Zone have further strengthened Dubai's status on the global media landscape.
Since inception, TECOM Investments has encouraged the development of knowledge sectors and its business partners through various industry clusters.
