  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, August 26 - 2009 at 11:40

Sharjah Municipality, in coordination with Bosch, has confiscated and destroyed more than 30,000 counterfeit auto parts claiming to have been manufactured by Bosch and other German brands, following raids on two warehouses. Some of the fake products had been prepared for shipment to neighbouring GCC countries. Bosch said workshops, retailers and customers should ensure any Bosch product has its KeySecure label, which consists of a hologram and a unique 15-digit code. Sharjah Municipality said the dealer caught in the raid had been banned from participating in a major - but unnamed - regional automotive exhibition.
