The service allows the masses to communicate with the Department through the hotline, via the e-mail, on fax or by using the SMS service.

This new service embodies Dubai Customs commitment to protecting the local community from everything that threatens individuals and affects their health. It also reflects the Department's keenness to preserve the national economy and the rights of producing companies and brand owners.

Dubai Customs urges all citizens to contribute to securing the community and maintaining its stability by reporting delinquency they could observe; for instance, smuggling forbidden goods in passengers' luggage or sea, land and air cargos. Moreover, regarding law-breaking conduct at the local market, Dubai Customs has trained the concerned employees on how to deal with receiving information, analyzing it and tackling it. The Department has also created a database that can be continually updated and benefited from in order to take necessary procedures.

The Department launched this new service that guarantees confidentiality of information received. Besides, the person who is reporting the issue is not constrained with any legal responsibility. It's worth mentioning that all means of receiving information is connected to a 24/7 operations center.

There is a current media campaign to promote the service by distributing signs, banners and brochures that introduce the service in the Airport, all customs centers and shopping areas. The service comes as part of the Department's great interest in the significance of information; that is a vital factor that helps make efficient decisions and ensures abiding by the Department's law and legislations as well as customs ethics by the clients.
