Focusing specifically on the traditions, customs and festivities surrounding the holy month of Ramadhan, the company has donated Dhs100,000, to Dubai Charity Association with the specific request that the funds be used to provide needy Muslim families in Dubai (and the greater UAE) with Iftar meals throughout Ramadhan; as well as Kiswat Al Eid (new outfits for Eid).

'As the world's largest modern primary aluminium smelter with a captive power plant, and the industrial flagship of the UAE, DUBAL acknowledges its social responsibilities,'

explains Abdulla Kalban,President & CEO: Dubal.

'Accordingly, we are committed to supporting diverse initiatives, projects and non-governmental organizations that strive to improve the quality of life for those unable to help themselves, or who require charitable assistance. Our sincere hope is that this first financial donation for Ramadhan specifically will truly empower the less fortunate in our society to join in the traditional festive activities.

'We also say 'Ramadhan Kareem' to the entire Muslim population, in the UAE and farther a field,' says Abdulla Kalban.

'May this important time in our spiritual calendar be meaningful, memorable and rewarding.'
