In keeping with the spirit of charity during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) has teamed up with the 'Thirst for Education' campaign unveiled by Dubai Cares, the initiative announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed in 2007 to make basic education accessible to as many children as possible in the world.

The campaign aims to raise funds to help provide children in developing countries with access to clean drinking water.

Enoc has pledged its support to this year's Dubai Cares charity by placing 44 donation boxes across Enoc/EPPCO service stations in Dubai and Northern Emirates.

Saeed Abdullah Khoory, Enoc Group Chief Executive, said:

"It is estimated that 2m children will miss 443m schools days because they lack access to clean water sources. Ramadan has always been about reaching out to the less fortunate, and as a socially responsible company we are delighted to provide our support each year to a campaign that has a profound impact on the lives of many children."

Enoc has been partnering with the Dubai Cares initiative since its launch in 2007. The move to place donation boxes across its service stations has been envisaged to encourage the maximum participation of residents to contribute to the "Thirst for Education" initiative by offering them the opportunity to make generous contributions conveniently.
