Global appoints Khaled Abdel Rahman Khaled Head of Brokerage in the GCC

Global Investment House (Global) announced the appointment of Mr. Khaled Abdel Rahman Khaled in the capacity of Senior Vice President to head the Brokerage business in the Gulf region.

This appointment is part of Global's strategy to enhance its product offerings and provide clients with the highest levels of service.

Mr. Bader Al-Sumait, Chief Executive Officer of Global, said:

"It is our pleasure to welcome Mr. Khaled to the Global team. We are confident he will contribute to the development of the company's brokerage business. Mr. Khaled's appointment reflects our commitment to play a bigger role in brokerage in the region, a service we have started in the beginning of 2008 when we set up and acquired brokerage companies in the leading financial markets in the MENA region."


Mr. Khaled in turn expressed his delight in joining the company and confirmed that he has plans to enhance and update the existing brokerage services at Global backing up on his vast experience in the field.

Mr. Khaled has extensive experience in the stock markets. Prior to joining Global, Mr. Khaled was the Executive General Manager for the National Bank of Abu Dhabi Brokerage Arm.

Before that, he was Head of the Operations Sectors for the Egyptian Stock Exchange where he was in charge of market operations, surveillance, membership, market control, OTC, DR conversions and coding departments.

Before joining the Egyptian stock exchange, Mr. Khaled was Director of the trading department at EFG Hermes in Cairo, responsible for the execution of equities and bonds for both institutional and retail clients. He has also served in various capacities for the treasury and dealing room at Commercial International Bank (CIB).

Mr. Khaled's contribution to the financial industry has seen him representing Egyptian stock exchange as Vice Chairman at the Federation of Euro Asian Exchanges and the Organization of Islamic Conferences. He has conducted numerous training programs for a variety of financial companies including the Egyptian Capital Market Association, Egyptian stock exchange, Banque du Caire, Banque Misr ,and the Egyptian Police Academy.

His professional career has also seen him as an active participant in the establishment and enhancement of market practices and regulations including Depositary Receipts (DR) listings and conversion for local issuers, codes of corporate governance, intraday trading rules and regulations, disclosure rules, setting of circuit breakers and OTC trading rules and regulations.

He was involved in the preparation of the Unified code of Corporate Government, for the Federation of Euro Asian Exchanges, and was panelist in many conferences related to the subject for emerging and developed markets.
