This brings the total of completed structural buildings announced by Damac Properties this year so far to four, along with Smart Heights at Tecom and Lago Vista at IMPZ. The company's twin tower development Park Towers at nearby DIFC is also expected to reach the top floor within the next six weeks.
Mr Fu He, said he was delighted that CSHK was involved with such a high profile development at Business Bay and that he was optimistic of future projects with Damac in Dubai and beyond.
"Dubai is a very important market place for us and we are proud to be a part of its continued growth and success. It is an honour to work with an established company such as Damac Properties, who are one of the leading property developers in the UAE, and we hope very much that our successful partnership on these two buildings could lead to more potential opportunities in the future."
Construction of both Business Tower and XL Tower commenced in January 2008 and form part of Damac's extensive portfolio of eight projects that are currently underway in the Business Bay area. Both towers are due to be completed by the end of this year.
CEO of Damac Properties Mr Peter Riddoch said:'We are delighted to mark the structural completion of these first two towers in the Damac family of properties planned for Business Bay.
'It is has been a great pleasure to work with the teams from CSHK, who have totally lived up to their reputation of being focused and committed to deadlines. The fact that we have been able to mark the double occasion of topping out both XL and Business Tower is further testament to this.'
At the topping out ceremony Mr Riddoch joined Mr Fu, and other dignitaries from both companies, in the traditional Chinese celebration of burning joss sticks at a specially made altar on the top floor before pouring the final cement needed to complete the main roof.
Business Tower is one of Damac's signature commercial buildings which features an innovative office design based on leading edge sustainability - the form of the tower is in direct response to the path of the sun as it moves around the building during the day thus encouraging maximum natural light into the offices. The 18-floor tower, which has 187,000sq ft of office space with retail on the ground floor, has a prime position overlooking the waterfront at Business Bay next to Downtown Dubai. It is adjacent to the company's XL Tower - a 19 storey oval shaped building that will offer 191,000sq ft of office and retail space which is entirely sold out.
Mr Riddoch added:'These two office towers with light and airy spaces for people to work in and stunning views of the waterfront are truly typical of the type of buildings that are synonymous with the Damac brand - exclusive designs in prime locations.
"I look forward to further commemorating with CSHK the completion of XL Tower and Business Tower in the near future.'
