MedHealth & Wellness 2009 - a major exhibition that will showcase medical tourism, health services, medical equipment and pharmaceutical products - has attracted the support of major health organisations, leading medical firms, and various media companies from within Oman and other countries worldwide, reflecting the significance of the event to the health and medical sector.
The three-day international exhibition will feature over 60 participating companies from more than 15 countries worldwide, including Kuwait, Germany, Jordan, Pakistan, India, Iran, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Italy, South Korea, Egypt, the U.S., and the UAE.
"The participation of local and international firms and the valued support of many organisations to MedHealth & Wellness 2009 clearly show the relevance of the event at a time when the public is presently confronted by various health issues," said Melwin D'Cunha, project manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading exhibition management company in the sultanate.
D'Cunha stressed that the strong response to MedHealth & Wellness 2009 can be mainly attributed to the support extended by the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Oman Medical Association (OMA), and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
The event's other supporting organisations include the Association of Private Hospitals in Malaysia (APHM), the Indian Medical Travel Association (IMTA), and the International Wellness and Healthcare Travel Association (IWHTA), which is based in the U.S.
Several international hospitals have also signed up as the platinum sponsors of MedHealth & Wellness 2009. These are the American Hospital Dubai, and the Malaysian-based Prince Court Medical Centre and the Pantai Group of Hospitals.
