'This career fair promotes contact between higher education and employers, with students as the basic medium of exchange. It provides students with opportunities to explore careers and to acquire information for their own career planning, both matters of great general importance,' said Sheikh Nahayan bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology.
'Even more important, however, is the fact that this fair focuses on the larger issues of employment of National graduates and, at the same time, contributes to the development of an effective framework for the education and training of the UAE's young people. Career choice and Emiratization of the workforce are central to the future progress of the country,' added Sheikh Nahayan.
'This event provides UAE Nationals, both fresh graduates and experienced professionals, with a passport into a wide variety of fields. The exhibition gives them the opportunity to explore available prospects with eading companies of the region and further themselves in various fields that interest them,' said DWTC Assistant General Manager (Acting) Abdulla T. Qassem.
The event which is being organized in conjunction with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), The National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (TANMIA) and Zayed University, takes place at the Airport Expo Dubai from April 20 to 23.
DWTC Manager Human Resources, Haidar Ali said the strong response showed that all sectors recognized Careers UAE as the ideal platform for employers to meet their future employees.
The DWTC will be conducting walk-in interviews at the event to fill 20 immediate vacancies on offer in different departments.
Careers UAE 2003 features a full programme of workshops, presentations, discussion groups, industry panels and private interview rooms which will give exhibitors more opportunities to target their message to, and meet with, visiting students, graduates and national job seekers
