Ala'a plans to continue to grow Opennet's business in the Kingdom, focusing on Riyadh and the Eastern province.

David Allinson, GM, Opennet MEA, said:
"With the growing interest in open source in the region, both enterprises and channel need the support of a expert not just in open source but also in the business practices and needs in KSA. Ala'a brings a depth of local knowledge backed by a litany of professional certifications and an excellent track record in providing high end software solutions and consultancy in KSA."

Ala'a's first mandate will be to rebuild and expand Opennet's channel network in the region, especially in light of the recent distribution agreement with Zimbra. He will work closely with existing partners to increase the level of skills and knowledge on open source and its advantages among both partners and enterprises in Saudi Arabia.

Based in Riyadh, Ala'a brings over 8 years experience in both channel development and working with enterprises in the Kingdom working with key IT solution providers. Before joining Opennet, Ala'a was working with Saudi Oger Systems as its sales manager. He started his career with Arabic Computer Systems after successfully passing his Bachelor of Science in Computer and Software Engineering from Jordan's Applied Science University. Ala'a also holds several professional certificates including Microsoft Professional courses, E-marketing courses and a diploma in marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
