Jotun Paints bags 'Qatar National Convention Centre' project

The project involves the coating of the convention centre's 140,000 sq. meter- car parking floor area using the 'Jotafloor Traffic Deck System', a high performance coating system designed specifically to protect concrete floors exposed to vehicular traffic.

Combining the latest glass flake reinforced epoxy and polyurethane technology, the 'Jotafloor Traffic Deck System' can be tailor-made to suit floors in car parks, walkways, ramps and external traffic decks.

For the QNCC project, Jotun Qatar will deliver 90,000 litres of 'Jotafloor Traffic Deck System'; 100,000 kilograms of 'Jotafloor' non-slip aggregate; and 14,000 litres of 'Jota Armour', a high build epoxy flooring system with excellent abrasion resistance and anti slip properties, which will be used for the bus and taxi ramps. 'Jotafloor Coating', a solvent free epoxy coating, will be applied to the floors of the technical rooms containing house compressors, generators and HVAC equipment.

In addition to the flooring, Jotun Qatar will also supply the intumescent coating 'Steelmaster' and the anti-carbonation coating 'Jotashield Tex Ultra'.

Jotun Paints will also deploy trained and experienced specialists to manage the application of 'Jotafloor' paints within the QNCC grounds. The team's top priority is to ensure that the site has undergone sufficient surface preparation in adherence to the specifications of the coating system to achieve maximum results.

In addition, we also ensure that all our floor projects are monitored by a trained representative during the entire work process - after the completion of surface preparation, during application of the system, and upon completion - as part of our responsibility as a manufacturer, we ensure that our floor products/systems are applied correctly and required protection is achieved," concluded Eikebu.
