About Dubai Medical College (DMC)
Dubai Medical College, part of the S.S. Lootah Group, was established in 1986 exclusively for girls, by Haj Saeed Bin Ahmed Al Lootah, Founder and Chairman of the Group. The fact that DMC is solely for girls and that it was started at a time when higher education for girls in the region was lagging far behind than that of the developed countries makes the college very unique even to this day. The 5 year course is accredited by 'Ministry of Higher Education' and the college is enlisted in the World Health Organisation (WHO) Directory of Medical Schools. The college has a unique arrangement with the Department of Health and Medical Services (DOHMS), for the students to undergo clinical training at the DOHMS hospitals. It was awarded the 'Dubai Quality Appreciation Program' (DQAP) in 2006.
