The Village Club officially opens Sept 1st and guests can enjoy a varied schedule of classes ranging from Yoga to heavy contact sports.

The National sport of Thailand, Muay Thai boxing is known as 'The Art of eight limbs' due to the eight points of contact used to strike the opponent.

Coach Mathew Dryden trained in Muay Thai for two years in Australia progressing from a career in boxing spanning four years previously.

'It is a contact sport but it takes all levels' he explains 'With beginners I work on a strong foundation before moving up a gear. Not only do you learn the techniques to actually fight but you can also improve your fitness dramatically.'

With several tournaments planned for the near future Mathew is currently training individuals to compete against other schools and gyms in Dubai. Teaching both men and women the classes can be adapted to incorporate contact and non contact moves, making it suitable for all.
