Start of Qatar-Bahrain causeway delayed

The start of construction on the $3bn Qatar-Bahrain Friendship Causeway, which was originally supposed to take place in May 2008, has been delayed for a second time and is now scheduled for 2010, Bahrain's Works Minister Fahmi al-Jowder told Gulf Daily News. He said it will take four-and-a-half years to complete work on the 40km causeway, which will incorporate a 13-metre wide railroad bridge.
